PANDSI is a client centred, non-clinical community organisation. We provide support, information, education and referral services to women and their families who are affected by mild to moderate depression or anxiety in pregnancy or after the birth of a baby (perinatal depression or anxiety). Our support services include regular telephone support, facilitated group support, one-to-on client meetings and intake appointments, dads information groups and playgroups. We also undertake community and health professional education.
We are seeking an energised and self-motivated individual to join our team to provide support via telephone and also to facilitate support groups. Strong skills in the areas of active listening, empathy and experience with facilitating group discussions are necessary. It is essential that the successful applicant is compassionate and has an understanding of the challenges faced by parents as they welcome a new baby into their lives. An interest in post and antenatal depression and anxiety is desired, but not essential.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing support via our Telephone Support Service
- Facilitating support groups
- Conducting intake appointments and one to one sessions
- Providing referral where appropriate
- Maintaining client confidentiality
- Working collaboratively with the Support Worker team
Occasional evening or outreach work may be required.
A Working with Vulnerable People registration is a requirement for all PANDSI staff.
Cert IV Mental Health or studying towards this will be required.
Experience in a similar role is an advantage. Training will be provided to the successful candidate.
